Foundation History
The Forests of Vikos-Aoos and Pindos Management Body , was founded at 2002 under Greek Law 3044 and represents the official body of Greek State for the protection, administration and illustration of the area of the National Park of Northern Pindos, always with the cooperation of the forest services of Ioanina, Grevena, Konitsa and other relevant public authorities. In legal terms, it as a Non-profit Private Legal Entity and it is supervised by the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.
Main cause of the Management Body is the preservation and illustration of rare natural habitats and flora and fauna species along with the enactment of procedures and rules for the ensuring of the harmonic coexistence of man and nature into the frame of sustainable development.
