Vikos canyon
Vikos canyon is the dominating and most impressive geomorphologic formation at Zagori.. With its wild and imposing beauty, rich fauna, vegetation and streams violently flowing on its sides and its caves, Vikos canyon has a length of about 10 kilometers and intersects Timfi Mountain by starting at Vitsa and Monodendri and ending at Voidomatis springs at Vikos village. Vikos canyon is reported at Guiness Book of Records of Year 1997, as the deeper and narrower canyon of the world, with a depth of 900 meters and width varying from 100 to 1,100 meters. The view to the canyon is magic, especially from Vradeto village (Mpeloi locality) and from Oxia locality, near Monodendri.
